• You should have received an invitation to join the KIHC yahoo discussion group. We
encourage all members to join. This can be a great vehicle to facilitate communication among
club members. It is intended to be a closed group – open only to members or past members.
As secretary, I would like to use the yahoo group to inform members of club happenings, new
members, membership lists, news from USIHC, etc.
If you lost your invite – and would like to join the KIHC Klettafjalla Icelandic Horse Club yahoo
discussion group, please email Sandy at burlwood@directairnet.com and I will resend it.
• Please notify Sandy at burlwood@directairnet.com if you have never received a KIHC
members list. They were sent out by email (as an attachment) last year.
• Insurance update: When the club insurance policy was renewed, we discovered that the yearly
premium only covers 3 days of mounted events per year. Additional days may be covered, but
the insurance company requests about a weeks notice before the event and additional $$$. They
indicated it would be around $45/day. Ironically, we are covered for unlimited unmounted club
events.

| 2009 is setting up to be an active year for our club members. Here is an early warning of the events I know about. Please let me know if you are planning others. CLINIC WITH SIGRUN BRYNJARSDOTTIR Organized by Dave Irish and Ann Kruuse, this clinic will be held in Hayden, CO on June 13 and 14. Costs of the clinic, etc. are yet to be finalized. It will be held on Ann and Dave's new ranch which is adjacent to the Steamboat Springs airport.. Contact Dave and Ann at vikingfarm@yahoo.com for details. CLINIC WITH CORALIE DENMEADE Organized by Julia Anderson and Judy Ahrens, this clinic will be held in Fairplay, CO June 26-28. Coralie is a FEIF certified trainer who will focus on tolt and gait separation. Depending on participation, clinic cost will be between $175 and $200. The fee will include facilities rental, horse boarding, lunches and meat and drinks for a pot luck. Auditors are welcome for a nominal fee. Coralie can accommodate a total of 12 participants. Please let Julia (719-836-2553) or Judy (719-836-3626) know by April 20 if you plan to attend. SADDLE FITTIING CLINIC Organized by Lynne Fickett, this clinic will be held in Durango, CO on August 15 and 16. The clinic will be conducted by Eileen Guinipero who will be bringing saddles with which to demonstrate the fine points of fitting a saddle to your horse and to you. Costs for the clinic are yet to be determined. Please contact Lynne at lynnef@frontier.net for more information. CLINIC WITH GUDMAR PETERSSON - October 9, 10 & 11, 2009 Organized by Cecily Klingman and Lynne Fickett, this clinic will be held at Riversong Ranch in Durango, CO on October 9, 10 and 11. As was the case last year, clinic participation will be limited to 12 participants with private and semi-private lessons available as time permits.
